Perched on a mountain ridge between Dominical and Uvita, Seawind Oceanview Villa is truly a retreat from the world. Of course, we all need a little adventure. The surrounding jungle offers limitless opportunities to enjoy the natural beauty of Costa Rica. Within twenty minutes of the villa, you’ll find numerous public beaches to kick back on. And less than an hour away, several national parks and wildlife preserves bring you face-to-face with monkeys, coatis, and three-toed sloths. You can also hike the many local waterfalls, ride horseback through the jungle, zipline through the canopy, and catch a trophy-sized sailfish while deep sea fishing. All the while, you’ll be surrounded by wildlife, including dozens of colorful butterflies, toucans, and parrots. You may even glimpse a pod of whales or dolphins—there’s a marine wildlife preserve just off our coast!
To make your stay as easy and low-key as possible, Seawind Oceanview Villa has partnered with an off-site concierge in Dominical to handle all the logistics of your trip. From your arrival to your excursion schedule, we’ve got you covered. You’re welcome to cook your own gourmet meals in the kitchen, but there are also numerous restaurants in both Dominical and Uvita, as well as a local pub less than ten minutes from the villa.

Perfect Costa Rican experience!
The photos of this lovely villa do not do this place justice! The location is second to none--perched high in the hills overlooking the coast near Dominical and Uvita. The views from the home are stunning, and the sights and sounds of the surrounding rain forest make for a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. One evening, we cooled off in the infinity pool while watching a pair of toucans sing in the tree next to the house--paradise! The villa was very clean and perfectly sized for two. The kitchen had everything we needed (we even made a seafood stew with fresh catch) and the outdoor grill was a plus. The bed was comfortable, and the AC provided much-needed cool, dry air in the evening. The washer/dryer was a plus, as well. Brad was wonderful to deal with before our arrival, and Richard was extremely helpful during our stay. He was able to book a last-minute snorkeling tour to Cano Island for us--very memorable! This place is a bit remote, and the (rocky) drive up to the house requires a 4-wheel drive vehicle, but if you're looking for a bit of private luxury with that wild Costa Rican atmosphere, this is the place to be.

Honeymooner's Paradise!
My husband and I wanted to be somewhere secluded for our honeymoon--and this was everything we hoped for and more!! We loved the infinity pool and how the house was situated so that you have an awesome view of the ocean no matter where you were (pool, shower, bedroom, living room, kitchen). The house was very well kept and the bed was comfortable. Richard and Alana were great hosts. They set us up on several adventures and sent for a hired chef to come up to our villa and cook our choice of meal--we had left overs for days following. We were so happy we chose the Seawind Villa. Domincal was a great little beach town and not crowded. We would love to come back and we have already recommend this place to our friends and family. FYI-A four wheel drive is a must have--not only to reach the villa, but if you want to easily travel though out Costa Rica.

Breathtaking views, stunning contemporary design!
I didn’t know what breathtaking means until I visited SeaWind Villa. First time when I stood by the pool and looked at the horizon it did take my breath away for a moment, as it’s so high up and spectacular. You can feel like you would be able to jump off and fly with ease, the same way like all these birds around the house are doing it. We spent 10 days staying in this house in February and it was absolutely amazing. Richard, our tireless property manager, was a phone call away literally anytime, day or night (complimentary cell phone included). He provided the highest level of service starting from the very first minute till the moment we checked out and beyond. We traveled a lot and stay in different places and Richard’s focus on customer satisfaction is exceptional. The house is so secluded from all the hassle that takes place 1000 feet below. It gave us a great chance to re-charge after dealing with our busy urban life. We also loved its contemporary design that gives you a sense of luxury, whether you are sinking into the living room couch or taking a shower at a natural stone bathroom or drinking your morning smoothie by the pool. It was all around perfect for us, we would come back here anytime. P.S. Someone in other reviews mentioned the road – well, if you find a road to paradise shorter than that one, please let me know.

Modern, yet cozy - incredible views!
We vacationed for 2 weeks in Costa Rica and spent our second week at Seawind in Dominical. The villa was even more spectacular than the photos show. The view from the top of the mountain was incredible, and it was great to be able to see "the whale tail" every day. The accommodations were perfect for 2 people...modern, yet cozy. It really had everything that we needed to truly relax and unwind. Richard and Alana were great. We were escorted to the villa and given the tour with Richard. He and his team were always available to answer any questions or help us with any need. One issue we had was with the Wi-Fi connection at the villa. In order to have Wi-Fi, you must have a USB connection. Since we brought our IPad, which does not have a USB connection, we were not able to connect to the internet while at the villa. Richard did his best to find a way for it to happen, but we were able to go to his office every day and use his Wi-Fi to check our emails. It was a minor issue and it gave us a reason to leave the villa and go exploring. Since this was our second visit to Dominical, we did not do much in the way of tours. We did take a surfing lesson with Costa Rica Surf Camp and it was a great experience. You can contact Kaitlin Berg at 831-818-1457 or check them out at crss@crsurfschool.com Visiting Ballena National Park is a must. Go during low tide so you can walk the “whale tail” and enjoy the amazing beach there. We also visited some local waterfalls known to the locals. Richard and Alana can give you maps to these local attractions. We did most meals at the villa, but we did eat at Jolly Roger Bar several times, since it is close to the villa and they have great wings and beer. Most of our days were spent relaxing at the beach during the day, followed by cocktails and easy dinners at the villa. A 4-W drive is a must to negotiate the road leading to Seawind, but the trek up is well worth the trip. Seawind is the perfect place if you are looking for modern accommodations with a killer view and total privacy. Thank you Brad and Tracy for sharing your beautiful home in Costa Rica with us. We can’t wait to go back. Owner Update -- Wifi issue is resolved at the Villa. Replaced the router and now we have wifi through the villa and patio area. Brad & Tracy Pura Vida! Sharon & Ken

A true paradise !
We stayed at Villa Seawind from Dec 9 to 24, two weeks of pure happyness in this amazing place beyond our expectations. The villa itself with its superb overlook on the pacific coast, the ocean and beautiful sunsets, was a true paradise to us offering much confort, peace and complete intimacy The house is brand new, well built and designed, fully equiped with a nice kitchen, a comfortable kingsize bed, smooth quality towels in the bathroom, infinity pool… we loved it. We were so well that we spent many days at the villa without thinking of doing anything else. We enjoyed very much the air of the mountain – without mosquistos –, being close to the jungle while being at 20 minutes drive of supermarkets, beaches and other activities. The road to get there is quite an experience at first time – need a 4 x 4 – but you will get used to it after few days. And you can always count on Richard and Dominical info tour team for any questions, help and tours of course. Thanks to the owners Brad and Tracy, we felt privileged to stay there.

A Wonderful Vacation!
Date of Stay: November 2012 We truly enjoyed our time at the Seawind Villa. We chose Costa Rica for our 32nd anniversary and the villa made it very special for us. From the moment we arrived we felt like this was our little bit of paradise! The views of the ocean and forest from the villa are nothing short of perfect! A couple of things to be aware of....the road up the mountain to the villa is steep and quite an adventure. Also, the villa would occassionally loose power for short periods of time. We did venture out for some tours. We definitely recommend the Canopy Osa zip-line tour and the Diamonte Waterfalls tour, both were incredible. Even though it was a pretty strenuous climb to the falls it was well worth it. We were treated to lunch once we reach the falls. All of the guides were very knowledgeable about the area and ensured our safety at all times. We did our food shopping in Uvita at the BM Supermercado. There are 2 BM markets in Uvita and the 1st one as you enter Uvita from the north is the best. It's well stocked and orgainized.....the other one not so much. The Bookstore by the Seashore in Dominical was a nice place to exchange books. As for restaurants....our favorites were Azul in Ojochal (ask for Russel, the chef), the Jolly Roger (on the road up to the villa), the Pizzeria Picola Italia (true Italian), and the Cuna de Angel (great atmosphere). We found everyone to be very friendly and accomodating. And finally, Alana and Richard with Dominical Info Tours were wonderful. They helped us with all the details of our vacation....thank you both! We had always heard that Costa Rica was a wonderful place and it truly is! Owner's Response: Karon, we are delighted that you enjoyed your time in our Villa and feel privileged you chose to spend your 32nd Anniversary there and in our area of Costa Rica. I wanted to add to your point about the power. In our area we have found power outages short and some longer are not uncommon. One of our last guests commented on this and we stocked the villa with more candles and flashlights in October to assist our guests. Our property manager is always there to assist our guests as well. Best Vacation Ever!
The Seawind Villa truly is a secluded paradise at the end of the world. My boyfriend and I spent 5 days in Dominical and this vacation exceeded all of our expectations and more. The villa is every bit as beautiful as the pictures portray. We were the first guests to stay at the villa and really loved all the amenities it offers. From the moment I emailed the owners, they were very friendly and accomodating. Richard at Dominical Info Tours helped us find our way to the villa on the first night and was our liason with all things Costa Rican. We found that not only Richard, but all the residents of Costa Rica are such friendly people! Really a joy to meet. As far as excursions, I definitely recommend the Nauyaca Waterfall tour on horseback - worth every penny! There is a fish market on the highway to the villa where we purchased fresh fish to grill, and several supermarkets in town. A couple things to prepare for: if visiting during rainy season, the power may go out at the villa. This happened a few of the nights, and came back on anywhere from 5 minutes to three hours after the outage. We didn't mind though - it was nice to watch the storms, sip wine, and play cards by candlelight. Also the villa is a 15 minute drive up a very rocky and mostly unpaved road, so a 4-wheel drive vehicle is a must. The first trip up had me white-knuckled, but by the end of the week we were pro's. Dominical is almost a 3 hour drive if flying into San Jose, but we enjoyed the scenery and beach towns along the way. Without a doubt, we will be back to Costa Rica and will stay at the Seawind Villa again. We miss it already!!
